"Hi everybody!
My name is Antonio Forssell Doukellis and I am a Freestyle/Wave windsurfer. Born
and raised on the windy and sunny island of Rhodes, and with the sea as my back
garden, it was only natural that I should start windsurfing. At the age of 14 I
decided that I want to become a professional windsurfer. Since then I have been
training really hard so I can start doing competitions in the near future.
Starting of with basic freestyle moves such as upwind 360s, helitacks and chop
hops I then quickly progressed into doing more advanced moves such as Air Jibes,
frontloops and geckos. After a few years, my trick range, as my passion for the
sport, grew larger and nowadays you can see me on the water doing the latest
freestyle moves. Even without joining any competition, my progress in 2010
earned me a JP-Australia and Neilpryde sponsorship, which was beyond any of my
expectations.
As every year, I will also this summer be training at Surfers-Paradise where the perfect conditions and nice people are ideal for me to get the best out of my training and most importantly, to have fun! When not windsurfing, I'm enjoying teaching as an instructor, and the lessons has taught me as well as my students a lot, most importantly that anyone can windsurf, and that with the right help, there are no limitations considering how good you can get. If you are struggling with landing that scary frontloop, Airjibe, switch stance move or any other, or if you just want to exchange experiences and meet new people, I will be at Surfersparadise between June and September 2011 offering you my help to improve your skills and to learn things you never thought you could do!
